An End to the Blogging Hiatus

At the end of last summer I made the decision to stop blogging for a little while.  Well life took over, things got busy and that little while became several months.  To begin with I didn't miss popping in here to share my thoughts, as quite frankly I wasn't sure what I wanted to write about anymore.  Time was limited and the plan was to make time for other creative outlets.  Then in recent weeks I started reading other peoples blogs again and I knew I needed to return to writing.  Whether I return once a week, or more or less often, I am going to make time for this little corner of my life.  In the past I would create a plan to create a certain type of blog, make big plans, but this time I am just going to with the flow....well a little bit!  Of course I will continue to write about being a parent, any parent of teens will know it's good to vent somewhere, but I promise not too many moany mum posts.  Also I hope to share some recipes, my adventures into growing a cutting garden filled with vibrant floral sights and scents and of course health and wellbeing will feature.  So there we have it, a new outlook for an old seasoned blogger.

Now I am off to facetime my eldest as it his nineteenth birthday, but sadly he is not here to eat endless cake as end of year exams are keeping him at uni for a couple more weeks.  But don't worry we will still be eating cake, just in different parts of the country!

Until next time take care,

Lost : One Blogging Mojo

Yes it's true I have lost my blogging mojo, which for me is quite hard.  Blogging has been part of my life for the past six years but recently life has taken over and the thought of sitting down to write has been furthest from my thoughts.  I know many bloggers take a break in August, some time out to enjoy life without writing about it, which is probably just what I needed to do.  The past few weeks have seen some big changes in my life, so taking some time out from blogging was very much needed.  Yet now I feel I should be returning here, to my lovely little blogging home, but I can't quite find the inspiration or motivation.  For a long time blogging was a big part of my career, I had to blog to pay the bills.  Now it is my hobby, my space, a place for me to reflect, to share my thoughts and maybe even inspire other women. Maybe this is what I need to remember, it is my space.  So with a few days annual leave, in between two important birthdays, I aim to find my blogging mojo and rediscover the reason I love to write.

Until next time, take care.

Lovely Links

Over the past few weeks I have been immersed in Pinterest and blogland, finding inspiration for our garden, our home and for my life in general.  So today I though it might be fun to share a few links with you.

In a mission to be more organised this year I am loving Viv's weekly filofax decorating posts.

Every week I love to read Rona's interviews with florists on her gorgeous blog, Flowerona. Horticulture was on my list of new directions when I started considering changing careers! Click here to read the latest one.

I was thrilled to see Holly of Decor 8 and her husband welcomed into the world their beautiful son this past week. Congratulations!  Decor 8 has been a favourite blog of mine for several years.

As a mother of an almost teenage daughter and two teenage sons I found this post about sexism in schools very poignant and probably has made me worry a little more.

Even though storms have continued to batter our country I have been starting to think about our garden this year.  I am really hoping to finish clearing old shrubs and opening up the space even more.  So of course I have been pinning inspiration on my garden board!

With spring hopefully not too far away I have also been thinking about my style.  The older I get the more comfortable I feel in my own skin, although I will be aiming to tone up properly this year! I know what I like to wear and hopefully what suits me, so I've been adding some style ideas to my style board.

Meanwhile I am lusting after these Orla Kiely shoes from Clarks!

And I have finally started using Bloglovin which means I can read all of my favourite blogs in one place.

So what have you been reading and pinning so far this month? Please do share as I love to find new things.

Until next time, take care.
